Knowing one another - What parts of the world have you visited
This is the part of the world I have visited. I liked Spain and Barcelona a lot, Greece for the seaside, Istanbul for its bazars and the Baltic states for their history but I felt more "at home" in the United Kingdom because I encountered no communication barrier! There is so much left to see.
You can generate your own map by going to the following site http://bighugelabs.com/map.php#top and clicking on the countries you have visited.
Your turn: Tell us a few things about the foreign places you visited, what you liked and why.

The Black Sea
ReplyDeleteIs my favourite location from our country. I LOVE the sea, the sunshine, the sunset, I like walking on the beach. Last year, in the summer, I was there for a few days with my family and I felt great. I walked a lot and sincerely I don`t remember the name of the locations but I had a good relaxing journey. I would like a lot and I wish I`ll visit other countries too because I`m interested about other people and civilizations.
Diana,
Deletethere are many opportunities to travel abroad and experience other cultures, one of them is to be an Erasmus student, of course next year.
For the major that you have chosen, this is essential, so please keep hoping.
Kyoto, Japan
ReplyDeleteSince I love to travel, I've visited many places all over Europe and Asia. The country wich I liked most is Japan. It has a very rich cultural inheritage and also some beautiful landscapes. We went there by plane, so we landed on Kansai Int. Airport and visited Osaka. After that we went to Kyoto, which is one of the oldest cities of Japan, since it was the capital of the country for almost one thousand years. We visited several temples, palaces and gardens. It was one of the greatest experiences that I've had. I look forward visiting new countries and learning about their cultures.
How is Japan different from Romania? Can you name one aspect?
DeleteI have visited Switzerland, Austria, part of France and England. I liked the Swiss Alps trekking with edelweiss flowers and scared wild goats, pristine views of snow-capped mountains and swift crystal-clear springs.
ReplyDeleteMy wish is to visit Egypt and maybe some exotic places such as Thailand and Vietnam.
What did you like about England?
DeleteThe "think small"concept of architecture, the green meadows, thatched-roofs, lavender smell and of course the rain!
DeleteMy part of world that I visited: Amsterdam – Venice of the North of Europe and I liked the coffee shops; Paris with the French air and the elegance of the French people; Venice in March has the magic spirit of the people going out in the street using masks, Rome is a place with a lot of history. In Spain: in Malaga you found a beautiful beach, Barcelona – Sagrada Familia the cathedral and Gaudi`s Park, Santiago de Compostela is a religious spirit and Tenerife – you found Loro Park and a lot of fun. Marrakech is a different culture and religion that I recommend.
ReplyDeleteFinally you did it!
DeleteAnd you visited so many interesting places! Did you travel to Marrakech as a tourist?
Yes, I visited it like a tourist and it is like Romania in the 1900, they have a different way to see life, I think that is because of the religion and the culture. Marrakech has two parts: the old part and the new one, and the hole city is like two different worlds in one.
DeleteI have visited Hungary, a neighbour of our country. It is a beautiful country in which I have visited the capital Budapest. I went there on a trip with my colleagues and some of the teachers from high school. Budapest is a very large city, I liked it because everywhere was clean and it has many interesting places, buildings and historic monuments. I visited the House of Parliament a wonderful building situated on the Danube river, the Zoo, I made a walk on Danube by ship and I sailed under the town’s bridges lightened in the night and I saw the two parts of the city. I liked this country because I saw new beautiful and interesting places.
ReplyDeleteOK Ionela, now that you managed to comment you should also help your colleagues do it.
ReplyDeleteAbout Budapest, did you also visit Vidam Park?
No,I didn't visit Vidam Park, but I also visited the Center of the city.It is a very beautiful and important places of the city.
DeleteThis summer I visitet Germany, I live there almost 1 week in a small town near Koln.
ReplyDeleteI liked there a lot their mentality and that they are very good people, but I didn't like the fact that the most of them don't speak English, only some of the young people. The food there isn't as good as here and it's quite expensive.
In my opinion Germany is a very beautiful country and I can't wait to visit it again.
I have visited Paralia Katerini, in Greece. Paralia is famous for its hotels, taverns, restaurants and nightclubs. Here you can see the beautiful seaside on the one hand and the mountains on the other hand. The sand here is the finest in the area, with no pebbles and the sea is very clean. Paralia really is the perfect place for shopping maniacs. The center of the resort is full of souvenir shops and there are also all kinds of interesting clubs for teenagers that organise beach parties. It is very beautiful and I recommend it.
ReplyDeleteThis summer I visited Austria and firstly I like people's attitude about the environment. They protect it very much. Secondly, I visited a lake from a resort and it was interesting how it continues at the base of the mountains. There was a strong contrast. Another country that I visited this summer was Czech Republic, especially Praha which is its capital. There I liked the lights which made every building to become a masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteThis summer i visited Italy. I went to Venice and Cervia. I think Venice is a very interesting place because it`s surrounded by water. I like the gondola very much because it is romantic to be there with your girfried/boyfriend. In Cervia I went to the beach. It is very nice there and i recommand it for everyone.
ReplyDeleteTwo years ago, I decided to spend my holiday in Spain.
ReplyDeleteSince the first day I noticed the huge difference between Spain and Romania.
And we have wonderful landscapes and places in our country, but the difference is in how these places are protected and cared.
There everything is different, along with wonderful views and values it holds Spain, people are of extraordinary kindness.
In a few days I made a lot of friends with that I went to the beach on the Mediterranean. Beach was in a good condition, despite thousands of people who were at the time there was no trash on the sand; the water was always clean by staff.
Also we enjoyed the streets of EL Prat Del Llobregat ( city that has fascinated me most), of Tarragona, Zaragoza, Olessa de Bonesvalls.
Even though my holiday lasted only 6 weeks, was enough to make friends, to go to shopping and I return home with an enviable tan.
Tarragona! It reminds me of a constant fear and feeling I had of having taken the train in the wrong direction!
DeleteWrong direction??? OMG, I would have loved to be in your skin...I wasn't as brave to use means of transport.
DeleteI care very much for my safety! :)
Then how did you travel? Only walked?
DeleteWalking and not only.
DeleteI used to go out with girls to ride a bike almost every night, but when we have to travel a greater distance I went by car.
Unfortunaly i have not traveled very much, but instead i saw many cities of Austria and Italy. I lived in Italy for seven years and i had visited several cities such as Roma, Rimini, Genova, Assisi and others. I liked all of them for the historical monuments and ancient buildings. I also like the sea but my favorite place remains the mountains of Austria, the small villages and the vast hectares of vineyards and orchard.
ReplyDeleteIoana, how come that you spent such a long time in Italy? Can you speak Italian?
DeleteCan you upload your picture to your Google account?
I didn't traveled as much as I wanted to, but I must say that I like city break vacations. For example this summer I visited Alba Iulia and Hunedoara, mainly for the castles, and for the history of the place. I try to imagine how the people lived back then, I'm amazed by the beautiful architecture, by the engineering. Also, I think that our country has many things to offer and I'd like to see that before I start checking other countries offer.
ReplyDeleteBesides Romania I have vistited Italy. I was to Rome, saw Coloseum, but the most incredibile thing i ever saw was Pompei, a little town near Naples. There are just ruins, incredibile constructions and the most spectacular thing, was hardened bodies of the locals as a result of the eruption of a volcano.
ReplyDeleteOne of the European countries I've visited more often and I love is Republic of Ireland. The island of Ireland has amazing landscapes to explore (the Isle is literally a wonderful green from all that vegetation) and wonderful cheerful people to meet.
ReplyDeleteIreland enjoys over 1,400 km of spectacular coastline, surrounded by the mighty Atlantic on the west and the Irish Sea on the east. The coastline enjoys lively fishing villages with some of the best seafood in the world.
Ireland is a vibrant, culturally rich and ethnically diverse country with an entirely youthful and optimistic outlook, especially that over half the population is under 30, after all! :)
Dublin bursts with energy thanks to its excellent restaurants, chic boutiques, legendary pubs, beautiful art galleries, verdant urban parks, elegant architecture, fascinating and turbulent history...
I was also fascinated by the horse racing in - an equestrian sport that has such a long and beautiful history.
For the seaside I liked Greece and I am in love with Croatia, I love the city of Budapest or Barcelona, I would love to visit Vatican and Prague, though. And I do hope I will have the chance to visit Northern Europe and Brasil.
Unfortunately I haven't been in other countries even thought I wish to and I want to.But if I would,I'd like to visit Egypt because I like the mystery of the pyramids and the Valley of the Kings also I'm fascinated of their culture,of hieroglyphs and I'd like to see how it looks a "sea of sand" .
ReplyDeleteI visited Spain and England. When I was in England I spend one week in Northampton and just one day I spend it on the roads of London with one girlfriend that I was visiting there. She took me to The British Museum that is certainly an exceptional museum in his gut keeping a bit of history of the world. Also we saw the Tower Bridge and the Thames river from a height of 42 meters.
In Spain I visited Barcelona , Madrid , Jaen ,Sevilla , Cadiz ,Granada , Malaga and Huelva. I liked Barcelona as a city, its buildings and streets in the Gothic style but mostly I liked the beaches and coast of Malaga, Cadiz and Huelva, because there are still sites with natural charm, sparsely populated, virgin could say, and also areas entertainment, full of tourists from around the world and almost always sunny with mild temperatures all year. There are wonderful views of the mountains near the sea and the sand dunes where you can play sports -sandsnow- newly invented and there are many ways for climbing, a spectacular sport that helps you know yourself and understand nature.
My dream is to get to India to spend there at least 3 months after I graduate.
Two years ago I visited Greece more accurate Santorini Island. Can don't have words to explain what I felt and how is there. In the real meaning of the word ...there is paradise.I also worked there as shop assistant for almost one year.I was almost convinced to stay there for the rest of my life. But I didn't knew that in extra season you can't find there any job.Everyone is moveing in Athena becouse of the wind. You can not imagine how windy is there.Everything is in the air...chairs...roofs...everything.I hardly tried to find a job after the season but was imposible.I spent all my money ...I was very disapointed. And I came back home...is better. But I would like to go there just for a moment...to remember everything. The sea...the view...the sunset is gorgeous
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I have never been out of country.Instead I visited many places in Romania.I was at many monasterys from Moldova three years ago.Two years ago I spent my holiday at Black See in Eforie Nord but, unfortunately I didn`t liked because was a totally mess.Last year I was at Busteni where I liked very much. This year I will go for the first time abroad in Italy ,Rimini at my cousin.I hope will be better than in Eforie Nord
ReplyDeleteIonela,
Deletebelow I will make two corrections which I hope you will bear in mind in the future because they are very important:
- monastery - plural: monasteries (in the plural "y" preceded by a consonant, vecomes "i"
- I didn’t like ( did / didn’t + verb in the first form), didn’t like, didn’t go, etc.
Enjoy you
Sorry, the post was published before I finished the comment:
