Facts about salaries

Read the article entitled Most surprising things about salaries What do you know about different salaries in our country? Give examples Are there substantial differences among regions? How do you explain that?

  1. I think the salaries differ according to the level of life of a particular region or country.I know for example that the salary of a call center operator Orange Romania in Bucharest is 1350 RON + vouchers + private clinic pass. It is possible to gain another two salaries per year at quarterly evaluations.
Another example is: net salary of a Shop & Go shift leader, part of Mega Image - the largest supermarket chain in Romania, is 1100 RON per month.  Salary plus a commission on sales that can store up to 300 lei. Basically, if the sales are larger, the employees earnings grow.
Women in Romania earn salaries about 10 percent lower than men for the same type of job and at a similar level of training, according to a World Bank study. According to specialists in human resources, "blame" for these differences in pay are, on the one hand, the fact that business is considered mostly male and, on the other hand, the role of women in the family.

    1. Hi Anca and everybody,
once you've started commenting I would appreciate that you also reply to comments of your colleagues, agree, disagree with them and actually start a discussion based on this topic.
I hope you understand my point of not only responding to my post but of exchanging ideas on the post with one another.

  2. As I read in the article, there is a big, good difference between salaries. Unfortunately, as Anca write above, it’s a very big difference between salaries from Bucharest to salaries from province, in our country. I think this is an important problem because strata aren’t differentiated well. For example, it is possible as a person with university studies to earn as well as a person who has only secondary education. Also, I appreciate that my classmate presented the women’s problems. Now, I ask you why should women be retired at the same age as the men, if they are discriminated because are women and earn less? In Romania the retire age is both women and men at 65. Is this thing normal or we didn’t develop enough to realize how these things should be?

    1. Alina, you could have replied to Anca.

My question to you is: what do you think the age at which women retire should be and why?

    2. But in Bucharest they need more money because the city is more expensive. (the rent, the restaurant, the taxes)

  3. I would be agree with the retire age of 65 at women if they would have the same salary as the men. As I know, in Romania this thing doesn’t happen, so I think it would be better as women to retire at age of 60. It is true that a woman can’t work in some work sectors but where it is possible the salary difference could be clearly observed.

  4. This is a fair thing, Because a shop assistant can't earn as much as a doctor for example. Salaries must be as high as is the workers knowledge and experience. For example a mason can't earn as much as an architect, or a mason with 5 years experience can't earn as much as a mason with 20 years experience. If you do a high-risk work it's normal to have a high salary or if you are a manager and you have to explain to your workers what, when and how to do thing it's natural to earn much then they. Unfortunately in our country doesn't exist this rate of salary. For example a mason earn much than a teacher, a driver earn much than a doctor etc.

  5. Each and every function has to have a specific salary in concordance to the activity prested, risk at work and also wich is the most important the experience .The salary of course that has to differ from region to region because the development is not the same in each region and that`s why should differ. For example as alexandru sad above in big city`s like Bucharest or Cluj the life is far more expensive then is in Piatra Neamt or Harghita. About the age of wich womens should retire in my opinion should be around 55 but with the posibility for those who want to continue with work for 5 or 10 years to have that option. In the end unfortunate salaries should be higher in every sector and every region!

    2. There is quite a difference between salaries in our country which can be divided in job types or city or area, We all know that salaries are much higher in the capital compared to the same job type in our city, however we also know that rent, transportation and university fees are also higher than here.
Also if we take our city for example, all the job categories which are getting tips (hair dresser, pizza delivery driver, waiter, bartender, bell boy) all these jobs pay basic salary because employers know that they also make tips, This of course ain't fair as tips are small attentions given in exchange of small attentions, therefore this is mostly earned money,
There are also differences between the employer, as a foreign employer might pay his staff a higher salary than what a local employer would pay for the same job (travel agencies compared to foreign agencies based in out city)
Salaries in our country are commonly low compared to other EU countries, as previously mentioned, also within our country there are differences between highly populated areas and low populated areas, cities with high industry and high number of hospitals, universities...There are no substantial differences , but there are quite a few, we cannot compare Bucharest, Cluj and Iasi to Harghita, Medias or Targu Jiu.

  6. I recently saw a documentary with all countries and all salaries. For example, in Romania, and average salary is 2000 lei and, gasoline is 6,4 lei/l. In Germany an average salary is 5000 lei and gasoline is 6,7 lei/l. I think that Romania is going down with this economy. I have heard about old people speaking about Ceausescu and how he managed to keep a beautiful economy. Unfortunately this was only good thing about that period. Now the economy is disastruous. We depend of other countries because we are importing products. It is very sad.
